For us, sustainability is not a one-off project, but rather an integral part of our daily operations. That is why we continually review our processes and invest in resource-efficient solutions—for our employees, our customers, and the environment.
Even though there is still a lot of room for improvement, we monitor our processes every day and try to excel in this area. The topic of sustainability is already present on a daily basis and we are proud to obtain our electricity (almost) entirely from renewable energies, to receive our heat as district heating and that many of our Steelworkers come to work by e-bike instead of by car.

Environmentally friendly to work
Our employees can use a company bike and charge it for free at the company's charging stations. This is how we promote sustainable mobility in everyday life.
Less CO2 emissions thanks to district heating
Our production facilities are supplied with district heating from the neighboring wood-fired power plant. This allows us to use existing energy efficiently and reduce CO₂ emissions.

Photovoltaics for a Sustainable Energy Supply
An important part of our sustainability strategy is the use of renewable energy. That is why the roofs of our facilities are almost entirely equipped with photovoltaic systems.
This allows us to generate a large portion of our electricity needs ourselves, and during the summer months we can even produce more energy than we consume. This not only reduces our carbon footprint, but also makes our energy supply more sustainable and independent.
